Intended Use
The Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV) Serotype Real-Time Detection Kit is designed for the detection of nucleic acids from clinically significant Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus serotypes in bovine clinical specimens. The kit aids in the diagnosis, differentiation, and monitoring of foot-and-mouth disease infections and supports rapid serotype identification for effective outbreak investigation, surveillance, vaccination strategy, and disease control in veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
Principle of the Assay
This kit utilizes real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) technology with highly specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes targeting conserved genomic regions of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus serotypes included in the panel.
During amplification, each probe specifically hybridizes to its corresponding target sequence and generates a fluorescence signal that is detected by compatible real-time PCR instruments. The increase in fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the accumulation of amplified product, enabling sensitive, specific, and simultaneous detection and differentiation of the targeted FMDV serotypes.
