For Equine Infectious Panel
The Equine Infectious Real-Time PCR Detection Kit enables rapid and accurate detection of important infectious pathogens affecting horses from appropriate clinical specimens. Designed for veterinary diagnostic laboratories and equine healthcare professionals, it supports early disease identification, differential diagnosis of clinically similar infections, timely treatment and biosecurity decisions, and effective disease surveillance. An integrated internal control ensures reliable assay performance and confidence in test results.
Intended Use
The Equine Infectious Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the detection of nucleic acids from multiple clinically significant equine infectious pathogens in veterinary clinical specimens. The kit aids in the diagnosis, differential identification, and monitoring of infectious diseases affecting horses, supporting timely therapeutic intervention, implementation of appropriate biosecurity measures, disease surveillance, and effective clinical management in veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
Principle of the Assay
This kit utilizes real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology with highly specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes targeting conserved genomic regions of the equine infectious pathogens included in the panel.
During amplification, each probe specifically hybridizes to its corresponding target sequence and generates a fluorescence signal that is detected by compatible real-time PCR instruments. The increase in fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the accumulation of amplified product, enabling sensitive, specific, and simultaneous detection and differentiation of the targeted equine pathogens.
Performance Characteristics
Sample Type
Equine EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood, serum, plasma, nasal swabs, conjunctival swabs, genital swabs, tissue specimens, aborted fetal tissues, and other appropriate veterinary clinical specimens collected from clinically suspected horses, depending on the pathogen included in the test panel.
