for CDV qPCR Panel
The Canine Distemper Virus Real-Time PCR Detection Kit enables rapid, sensitive, and specific detection of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) from conjunctival, nasal, and oropharyngeal swabs, EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), tissue specimens, and other appropriate veterinary clinical samples. Designed for veterinary diagnostic laboratories and animal health professionals, the kit supports early diagnosis of canine distemper, enabling timely clinical intervention, appropriate isolation measures, and effective disease management. Molecular detection is particularly valuable during the early stages of infection, when prompt diagnosis can help reduce transmission, improve case management, and support disease surveillance in both domestic and wild canid populations.
Intended Use
The Canine Distemper Virus Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the detection of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) nucleic acid in veterinary clinical specimens. The kit aids in the diagnosis and monitoring of canine distemper virus infection, supporting early disease detection, timely therapeutic intervention, implementation of appropriate infection control measures, disease surveillance, and effective clinical management in veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
Principle of the Assay
This kit utilizes real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology with highly specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes targeting a conserved genomic region of the Canine Distemper Virus genome.
During amplification, the probe specifically hybridizes to its target sequence and generates a fluorescence signal that is detected by compatible real-time PCR instruments. The increase in fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the accumulation of amplified product, enabling sensitive, specific, and reliable detection of Canine Distemper Virus nucleic acid.
