Intended Use
The Burkholderia mallei Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the detection of Burkholderia mallei nucleic acid in veterinary clinical specimens collected from equids, including horses, donkeys, and mules. The kit aids in the diagnosis and monitoring of glanders, supporting early disease detection, differential diagnosis of equine bacterial infections, timely implementation of disease control measures, outbreak investigation, disease surveillance, and effective clinical management in veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
Principle of the Assay
This kit utilizes real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology with highly specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes targeting a conserved genomic region of Burkholderia mallei.
During amplification, the probe specifically hybridizes to its target sequence and generates a fluorescence signal that is detected by compatible real-time PCR instruments. The increase in fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the accumulation of amplified product, enabling sensitive, specific, and reliable detection of Burkholderia mallei nucleic acid.
