for Bovine Viral Diarrheal Panel
The Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) qPCR Panel enables rapid and accurate detection of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV) Type 1 and Type 2 from appropriate bovine clinical specimens. The assay supports early diagnosis, identification of infected and persistently infected (PI) animals, timely herd health interventions, and effective disease control programs while delivering reliable molecular results through an integrated internal control.
Intended Use
The Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) qPCR Panel is designed for the detection of nucleic acids from Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus Type 1 (BVDV-1) and Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus Type 2 (BVDV-2) in bovine clinical specimens. The kit aids in the diagnosis, differentiation, and monitoring of bovine viral diarrhea virus infections and supports the identification of persistently infected (PI) animals for effective herd health management and disease control in veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
Principle of the Assay
This kit utilizes real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology with highly specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes targeting conserved genomic regions of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus Type 1 and Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus Type 2.
During amplification, each probe specifically hybridizes to its corresponding target sequence and generates a fluorescence signal that is detected by compatible real-time PCR instruments. The increase in fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the accumulation of amplified product, enabling sensitive and specific detection and differentiation of the viral targets.
Performance Characteristics
High analytical sensitivity for early detection of BVDV infection
High specificity for BVDV Type 1 and Type 2
High reproducibility and assay stability
No cross-reactivity with non-target bovine pathogens
Sample Type
Bovine EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood, serum, plasma, ear notch tissue, nasal swabs, spleen, lymph node, lung tissue, and aborted fetal tissues collected from clinically suspected or persistently infected cattle.
