Additional Details

for BEA Canine qPCR Panel

The BEA Canine Real-Time PCR Detection Kit enables rapid and accurate detection of clinically significant canine vector-borne bacterial and protozoan pathogens from appropriate clinical specimens. The assay provides highly sensitive and specific results, supporting early diagnosis, differential detection of co-infections, timely therapeutic intervention, and effective disease management in veterinary diagnostic laboratories and clinical practice.

Intended Use

The BEA Canine Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the detection of nucleic acids from clinically significant vector-borne pathogens associated with canine infections in veterinary clinical specimens. The kit aids in the diagnosis, differentiation, and monitoring of canine vector-borne diseases, supporting timely clinical intervention, effective disease management, and epidemiological surveillance in veterinary diagnostic laboratories.

Principle of the Assay

This kit utilizes real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology with highly specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes targeting conserved genomic regions of the pathogens included in the panel, comprising Babesia gibsoni, Babesia canis, Ehrlichia canis, Ehrlichia ewingii, Anaplasma platys, and Anaplasma phagocytophilum.

During amplification, each probe specifically hybridizes to its corresponding target sequence and generates a fluorescence signal that is detected by compatible real-time PCR instruments. The increase in fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the accumulation of amplified product, enabling sensitive, specific, and simultaneous detection and differentiation of the targeted pathogens.

Performance Characteristics

  • High analytical sensitivity for early detection of canine vector-borne pathogens
  • High specificity for the pathogens included in the panel
  • High reproducibility and assay stability
  • No cross-reactivity with non-target canine pathogens

Sample Type

Canine EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood, buffy coat, spleen aspirates, lymph node aspirates, bone marrow aspirates, and other appropriate veterinary clinical specimens collected from clinically suspected dogs.

Kit Features & Advantages

  • Rapid and reliable molecular detection
  • Simultaneous detection and differentiation of multiple canine vector-borne pathogens
  • Supports early diagnosis and targeted therapeutic decision-making
  • Simple workflow with minimal hands-on time
  • Compatible with major real-time PCR platforms
