for Babesia microti
The Babesia microti Real-Time PCR Detection Kit enables rapid, sensitive, and specific detection of Babesia microti DNA from EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood, buffy coat, spleen aspirates, tissue specimens, and other appropriate veterinary clinical samples collected from dogs and other susceptible animals. Designed for veterinary diagnostic laboratories and animal health professionals, the kit supports early diagnosis of babesial infection, facilitating timely therapeutic intervention, differential diagnosis of hemoparasitic diseases, and effective disease surveillance. Molecular detection is particularly valuable during the early and chronic stages of infection, when parasitemia may be low or intermittent and microscopic examination may fail to detect the organism, thereby improving diagnostic accuracy and supporting informed clinical decision-making.
Intended Use
The Babesia microti Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the detection of Babesia microti nucleic acid in veterinary clinical specimens collected from dogs and other susceptible animal species. The kit aids in the diagnosis and monitoring of babesial infection, supporting early disease detection, differential diagnosis of hemoparasitic diseases, timely therapeutic intervention, disease surveillance, and effective clinical management in veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
Principle of the Assay
This kit utilizes real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology with highly specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes targeting a conserved genomic region of Babesia microti.
During amplification, the probe specifically hybridizes to its target sequence and generates a fluorescence signal that is detected by compatible real-time PCR instruments. The increase in fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the accumulation of amplified product, enabling sensitive, specific, and reliable detection of Babesia microti nucleic acid.
