The Retro Biotech Hantavirus Detection Kit is a real-time RT-PCR assay designed for qualitative detection of Hantavirus RNA in human clinical specimens. The kit offers high sensitivity, specificity, and rapid turnaround time for reliable laboratory diagnosis.
The assay utilizes one-step real-time reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) technology for amplification and detection of conserved regions of the Hantavirus genome. Hantavirus infection initially presents with non-specific flu-like symptoms including fever, fatigue, myalgia, headache, and gastrointestinal symptoms. Severe infections may rapidly progress to respiratory distress, pulmonary edema, renal failure, or shock.
