Principle of the Test

Fluorescent probes specifically detect amplified viral RNA targets, while an internal control monitors extraction efficiency and PCR inhibition.

Clinical Significance

Hantavirus infection initially presents with non-specific flu-like symptoms including fever, fatigue, myalgia, headache, and gastrointestinal symptoms. Severe infections may rapidly progress to respiratory distress, pulmonary edema, renal failure, or shock.

Molecular detection through RT-PCR enables early diagnosis before antibody response becomes detectable, supporting timely clinical intervention and epidemiological surveillance.
