Feline calicivirus Detection Kit

Intended Use

The Feline Calicivirus Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the qualitative detection of Feline calicivirus RNA extracted from feline oropharyngeal, nasal, or conjunctival swab samples. The kit aids in the diagnosis and monitoring of feline calicivirus (FCV) infection in veterinary clinical settings.

Principle of the Assay

This kit utilizes real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) technology with specific primers and fluorescent probes targeting conserved regions of the feline calicivirus genome.

During amplification, viral RNA is first reverse transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA). The probe then hybridizes to the target sequence and emits fluorescence, which is detected by compatible real-time PCR instruments. The increase in fluorescence signal is proportional to the accumulation of amplified product, allowing accurate detection of the virus.
